Counter Knife Attack Techniques

Knife Attacks 1-10:
    1. Attacker lunges straight forward with knife. I step to the left while deflecting the knife with my right hand, then immediately deliver a side thrust to the attackers knee and strike to the back of the neck with a shoto while stepping around. Then I wrap my arm around the attacker's neck and chest area and throw him over my knee.
    2. Attacker swings a knife at me around from my left side. I step into a horse stance and strike arm with both hands (hands have fingers extended). I then immediately grab arm with left hand and strike to the neck with the right. Next, I twist the arm out with left hand, and drive to shoulder area with right hand, forcing attacker to the ground.
    3. Attacker swings knife up and then down toward my head. I step into a right leaning stance and both hands go up - the left blocking the knife and the right striking to the neck. I then step up to a horse stance and strike to the groin area with a knee (right knee). Then with my right leg I step behind the attacker and push with both hands to the chin and face area, sending him to the ground.
    4. Attacker swings knife up toward my stomach. I step back to a horse stance and strike the arm with both hands (shoto hands). I then break the arm by twisting it with the left hand until the elbow is facing the ground. Then while still holding with the left hand, I strike the elbow with a palm heel strike.
    5. Attacker swings knife up then down toward my head. My right arm goes almost straight up, deflecting the knife and attacker to the right of me. I then turn around and hold the shoulder down while striking to the side of the neck. Then with the other hand, I deliver an elbow strike to the spine.
    6. Attacker swings knife up, then down, toward my head. My right hand goes up and I deflect the hand. At the same time I turn around and grab the wrist holding the knife, I bring it down and then up , causing the attacker to cut his groin area, or upper leg.
    7. Attacker swings knife up, then down toward my head. I step forward into a right leaning stance, while blocking the knife with the left hand, and striking the face with a right elbow strike. I then grab the back of the neck, pushing it down, and I bring the shoto up, while delivering a knee to the face.
    8. Attacker lunges straight in. I step to a left leaning stance and deflect the hand with my right. I then come up so that my left side is facing the attacker, while striking the attacker with the knuckles of my left hand, then immediately, I strike to the attacker's neck with a left shoto. Then, I step toward him and deliver an elbow to the face, and again. My left hand then goes across the attacker's chest, above the arm with the knife and that arm is grabbed with the right hand. I then take a deep breath breaking the arm at the shoulder.
    9. Attacker comes in with an upper cut with the knife. I step back with both feet into a horse stance, facing the attacker. I strike the forearm with a cross block, and then grab the hand, twist it and bend the wrist until the knife falls out.
    10. Attacker lunges straight in. I step back and to the side. Then my left hand goes up and my right hand goes down. When the hand is right in front of me, I strike with the left hand on the forearm, and the right hand on the hand (a safe distance from the knife) breaking the wrist.
Additional Knife Attacks:
    1. Attacker swings knife up, then down toward my head. I step forward into a right leaning stance, while blocking the knife with the left hand, and striking the face with a right elbow strike. I then grab the back of the neck, pushing it down, and I bring the shoto up, while delivering a knee to the face. Then drive arm down.
    2. Attack is with the right hand, right foot, and straight in. Turn to your right, avoiding the stab. Right hand on bottom left on the top, break attacking wrist. Elbow strike with the left hand and grab attackers forearm with the right. Drive left forearm into attackers upper arm to break elbow. Grab around the top of the attackers upper arm with the left, and use the right hand to slash the attacker with his own hand and knife.
    3. Attack is over the top. Deflect with right hand to right, then grab wrist. Strike with the left hand to the attackers right side of the face. Continue to push arm through so it is before the attackers neck. Your arm pit is over the attackers shoulder. Push backward with the left arm and pull attackers arm back with the right, breaking the shoulder. Take a deep breath to aid in breaking the shoulder. (Turning slightly to the right helps too)
