Combat Bo

Bow with bo in the right hand. The bo should be in front of your whole arm, your right palm is facing forward. Step to the left with the left foot so that your feet are shoulder width apart. At the same time deliver an upper block, grabbing the bo with both hands. Then deliver a downward block. Strike with the right end of the bo to the middle and then with the left end. Turn your right hand over and step back with the left foot so that you are facing 45 degrees to the left. As your foot lands so should your block. Block straight out in front of you with your right hand over the left, the bo should be othogognal to the ground. Strike upward with the bottom end of the bo, the other end is retracted to your right shoulder. Strike over the top with the retracted end of the bo and retract the other end to your left hip. Strike over the top with the retracted end of the bo and retract the other end to your right hip. Bring the bo into your chest and turn 90 degrees to the right, moving only your right foot. Your foot should land as your block does. This time the left hand is over the right. Strike upward with the bottom end of the bo and retract the other end to your left shoulder. Strike over the top with the retracted end and retract the other end to the right hip. Step straight back from the original position with the left leg to a right leaning stance. You should land in the stance at the same time your arms become completely extended above your head in an upper block. Turn your hip and adjust your legs so that you are in a left leaning stance facing somewhat the other direction. Do not turn your head, but do turn the bo so that it points in the direction you are looking. Stick the attacker with the end of the bo by sliding your right hand to your left on the bo. As you slid your right hand back out to it original position bring your left foot up to your right. Your body should be facing 90 degrees left of the original position, but you should be looking in the same direction as you were when you started. The bo is still above your head and pointing in the direction you are looking. Raise your right knee and sweep block to your right side. Step out in that direction with your raised leg to a leaning stance. When you land in the stance so should your strike over the top with the right end of the bo. (you must turn your right hand over on the bo before delivering this strike) Bring the bo back and then jab with the same end downward. Bring it back again and jab upward with the same end. Pivot so you are in a left leaning stance facing the other direction. As you pivot swing the end of the bo downward and across to the other side in a block. You are blocking and striking to the right of your left leaning stance. Jab low and then high just as you did in the previous stance. Come back to your right foot and turn to the left so that you are facing exactly backwards from the original direction. Swing the bo out in front of you to block with your left hand over the right. Deliver a right round house kick. Step back three times so that your feet are together once again and turn the bo over so that your right hand is over the left. Deliver a right from snap kick. Turn around to the right as you bring the top end of the bo down for a hook block. Continue to swing the bo to the right, then upward over the head, and around out in front striking with the same end that blocked. The right arm should be extended in the strike and the left hand should be under the right arm. The rear end of the bo protrudes back from the right armpit. Spin the bo over your head so that you deliver the same strike on the other side with the opposite end of the bo. Swing the bo back the other way as if you were delivering a third strike, but lower the bo by your right side and release it with the left hand. Bring your left hand to your side and bow.
